Prioritising reading over social media meant I read 11 books last month! (More than my usual 4-6!)

Ramble about my recent reads that were not Jane Austen related, plus some reading plans for August including #garbaugust! Apologies for the awful editing - I had uploaded this and then realised that I didn't add my usual book covers to the video but rather than delay it even further as this was filmed a week ago, I've just gone with it. Also, for some reason, InShot won't export my videos at anything above 720p. Sigh. NB: THERE ARE CONTENT WARNINGS FOR SOME OF THE BOOKS and I have asterisked the relevant titles below. You can search for the details of those warnings on this useful site: https://booktriggerwarnings.com/Welcome I prefer not to list content warnings as this often inadvertently gives spoilers, but advise you to investigate using the link if you worry about content. Lark is NOT listed on the trigger warnings site, so scroll to the very bottom of the description box for details for one because of slight spoilers. Jane Austen July Wrap-up PLUS A short walk around Jane Austen’s London and several great bookshops!

I talk about my wonderful #janeaustenjuly experiences and then take you on a short walk around Jane Austen’s London, starting at her brother Henry’s house. The walk was listed in the book ‘Walking Jane Austen’s London’ by Louise Allen. Thanks to my lovely friend Alice for tagging along on this. We also popped into a few bookshops because it would have been rude not to! NB: I have had to upload this in 720p due to technical issues. Michael Morpurgo, The Book Trust Annual Lecture, 2016.

"Let there be half an hour of Storytime at the end of school in Primary schools up and down the country... make this the half hour they all long for, that they don’t want to be over...  Let the children go home dreaming of the story, reliving it, wondering."
